In Knokke-Heist, the renowned seaside resort on the Belgian coast, the weekly market on the Gemeenteplein is one of them. Every Wednesday morning from 7am to 1pm and every Saturday morning from 7am to 2pm, this ordinary square transforms into an open-air theatre where the senses, the seasons and generations converge. This market is not a manufactured tourist event for passing visitors. It is a living institution, deeply rooted in the daily life of those who have chosen the North Sea as a way of life. And it is precisely this authenticity that makes it one of the most qualitative gastronomic gatherings on the Flemish coast. The address: Gemeenteplein 23, in the heart of Knokke-Heist Located on the Gemeenteplein, a short walk from the lively centre of Knokke, the market occupies a spacious square lined with shops. It is easily accessible on foot, by bicycle or by car, with several car parks nearby. The regulars arrive early, right at opening, to enjoy the best stalls before the late-morning rush.
