La Tricoterie Brussels: rooms, events and Saint-Gilles guide

I came to La Tricoterie for a panel and a film. I left feeling I had crossed a small neighbourhood inside one building. On 28 September 2026, while Europe’s future was debated in one room and a documentary followed, a concert took place in another. Another event and groups of friends at the bar added to the movement. More than the building’s size, it was the simultaneous lives within it that stayed with me. La Tricoterie at a glance: at 158 rue Théodore Verhaegen, 1060 Saint-Gilles, Brussels , this former industrial site is now a cultural and social meeting place with multiple adaptable rooms, a café and a changing programme of debates, film, concerts, theatre and workshops. One evening, several stories From the street, the sign Fabrique de liens — a factory of connections — could be a slogan. Inside, it becomes geography. A handwritten board welcomes visitors to the café and lists the evening’s events. In the corridors, some people are looking for a screening, some for another room, and some simply for a conversation over a drink.
