For nearly eight years, I observed the world from the elevated and reassuring cockpit of Scandinavian engineering. First, behind the wheel of a superb Volvo XC SUV, then adopting the excellent Lynk & Co. I loved the space, that safe bubble, and I intimately understand the phenomenal success of brands within the Geely galaxy . But while desperately searching for a parking spot in the narrow streets of Brussels, I had an epiphany. Today's true automotive luxury is no longer about bulk. Luxury is about agility. Add to that the rationality of the Belgian entrepreneur. Tax rules are now relentless: only 100% electric powertrains still find favor with the state. Plug-in hybrids are relegated to the past, and over 70% of B2B sales in Belgium are now electric. It was time for me to shift paradigms. Fleeing gigantism, demanding intelligence I made a counter-current decision against the traditional choice of executives: I wanted a small car. A true urban car. But make no mistake, compactness should no longer mean giving up. As a keen observer of new mobility trends and a convinced user of the D'Ieteren group's services, such as Poppy shared fleets and Husk chauffeurs, my relationship with transportation had become more fluid. I wanted to find that same modernity in my own vehicle.
